Challenge

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC), in collaboration with the WHO identified children and adolescents as “at- risk” constituents, in need of focused attention to address injury and violence against them as a global health priority. This required identifying effective interventions, aligning strategies with international healthcare standards, and leveraging global partnerships to reduce violence and improve healthcare outcomes for children, increasing the mortality rate among these constituents.

Solutions

Drawing upon Strategic e-Business Solutions, Inc. (SeBS) decades of expertise providing technical and analytical support in global healthcare consultation, the NCIPC awarded a contract to SeBS to utilize a data driven study to develop its Global Health Strategic plan and Framework, encompassing guidance from international organizations. Their goal was to solicit input from various stakeholders to establish a framework for governance and global strategic planning workshop. CDC needed assistance:

  • Facilitating stakeholder discussions on violence prevention as a global health priority.
  • Developing evidence-based frameworks for interventions and surveillance methodologies.
  • Aligning NCIPC efforts with international organizations, including UNICEF, USAID, and WHO.
  • Conducting policy analysis in countries like Botswana, Peru, and China to assess and mitigate the impact of violence on children.

Approach

SeBS employed a structured and collaborative approach to streamline the agency’s needs:

  • Designed workshop and generated read-ahead materials to guide discussions and foster active engagement during the workshop.
  • Research, and conducted interactive sessions to develop a vision, mission, and goals for addressing violence and other issues impacting the mortality rate among children.
  • Documented strategies, including cost-effective interventions, surveillance frameworks, and partnership models.
  • Delivered a comprehensive report summarizing outcomes and actionable recommendations for internal and external partner organization.

Value-Add

SeBS’s contributions provided significant value to NCIPC:

  • Delivered evidence-based strategies to reduce violence against children.
  • Strengthened partnerships with global organizations to implement scalable solutions.
  • Enhanced NCIPC’s ability to track and address violence through improved surveillance systems.
  • Enhanced collaboration and partnership among global organization espousing similar mission and goals.

This initiative demonstrated SeBS’s capacity to align global health strategies with measurable outcomes, ensuring prioritized, long-term improvements in children’s healthcare.
